Attorney For Trayvon Martin Allowed To Blog About Case

On October 29, 2012, Judge Debra Nelson of Seminole County Florida denied the prosecution’s request to bar George Zimmerman’s lawyers from blogging about legal issues on a website, as well as using traditional news and social media, to comment about the case. Judge Nelson said, “There has not been an overriding pattern of prejudicial commentary that will overcome reasonable efforts to select a fair and impartial jury.”

In April, the request was rejected by Judge Kenneth Lester, the previous judge in the case. Prosecutors requested the order for the second time, claiming that Mark O’Mara, Mr. Zimmerman’s lawyer, was jeopardizing the trial by making prejudicial statements in his comments to the traditional media, as well as on Twitter, Facebook, and a legal blog.

The question many people are asking is whether the Judge is being too lenient with the Attorney’s communication about the case. Let us know what you think. For more information click here.
